Monique Lamoureux and Ian Quenneville, co-presidents of Avanti-Toast, are pleased to announce the appointment of Nadia Ruel as Director, Non-Fiction Development. In addition to continuing her duties as Content Producer, she will oversee the development of a variety of programming genres, excluding fiction, for television and digital media.
Nadia Ruel has worked on the research, development, and content of numerous variety shows, talk shows, magazine programs, and documentaries. She has been employed by Avanti for nearly 15 years, first as a lead researcher (Un gars le soir), then as a content producer (Solved! Forensic Police Files, Oh What A Year!, What Now?). In recent years, with On Duty 24/7, Police On Duty, and Paramedics, she has developed a groundbreaking expertise in observational documentaries. Her productions have been acclaimed and awarded in Quebec and internationally.
“Nadia will continue to bring strength and presence to the development of our non-fiction projects. She is a brilliant strategist, endowed with unique vision, judgment, and confidence. It is a privilege to have her on the leadership team,” said Raphaël Martin, Senior Director of Development. Following Caroline Allard’s appointment as Director of Fiction Development in September, Nadia Ruel’s appointment completes the leadership team of the department, which also includes David Bourgeois, Zachary Gosselin-Maillé, Emmanuelle Plante, and Émilie Sarrazin-Héroux.
“Growth, enjoyment, and pride have been a constant throughout the past year. The quality of our productions depends first and foremost on the quality of their development. With Nadia Ruel as Director of Non-Fiction Development, we are adding a trusted and talented resource to the creation of our shows,” enthuses Ian Quenneville, Producer and Co-President. A testament to the success of the company’s new structure, more than ten Avanti-Toast productions will be broadcast on television and digital platforms in 2023. Numerous projects are also in development, both fiction and non-fiction.
