Nearly thirty years after the first episode aired on October 16, 1993, cult series The Quirky Family (La Petite Vie) continues to captivate an average of 600,000 viewers each week on ICI TÉLÉ. To mark the series’ 30th anniversary and to thank the audience for its impressive loyalty, Claude Meunier has written six new episodes that will allow us to discover what has become of the main members of the Paré family in 2023.
As with the original series, Claude Meunier teams up with directors Josée Fortier and Pierre Séguin. Almost all the cast members are back, alongside Claude Meunier (Ti-Mé): Diane Lavallée (Thérèse), Marc Messier (Réjean), Marc Labrèche (Rénald), Josée Deschênes (Lison), Guylaine Tremblay (Caro), Bernard Fortin (Rod), Rémy Girard (Pogo), and Sylvie Potvin (Linda).
“From the moment I read the first lines, the family “reappeared” instantly, magically, as if we were together just yesterday. What a great gang! So much fun and love! We hope to share it with our audience once again. It’s the gift we wanted to give them for their loyalty over all these years,” says Claude Meunier, paying tribute to the team whose chemistry is one of the determining factors in the absolutely unique success of this cult series.
“La Petite Vie is a true phenomenon in our TV history. It’s the only fiction series of which an episode has surpassed 4 million viewers, the only one whose reruns have consistently attracted a considerable audience over the decades. It’s with great curiosity that we will watch these beloved characters return to another stage of their lives. I hope the public will be delighted to see them again,” said Dany Meloul, General Manager of Radio-Canada Television.
The six episodes will be available online on ICI TOU.TV EXTRA in 2023-2024.
